Raw Food Detox – Tips For Beginners

A short raw food detox can be a very powerful way to cleanse your body of harmful and unhelpful toxins and waste, as well as boost your health in many other ways.

Here are some tips to help you get started…

1. Plan ahead.
Begin with 3-7 days where you know you’ll be able to plan your meals easily (not traveling or going to the in-laws for Thanksgiving), and fill your fridge with the finest, freshest foods you can. You may want to follow specific recipes or improvise but keep it varied, balanced and interesting!

2. Go easy.
You don’t have to go 100% raw from the get-go. This is especially worth noting if you are planning on more than few days. Try starting with 50-70% raw, then go from there.

3. Expect a few challenges.
Your body is not used to a raw diet and you may well crave those naughty foods and drinks, as well as experiencing headaches or nausea as your body gets rid of nasty toxins. But press on if you can– it’s worth it!

4. Enjoy it!
Make the most of your new diet and explore the tastiest, most satisfying new foods and combinations; from shoots and salads to smoothies, juices, chocolate and more. It’s a food adventure! Who knows you might even like it so much you stay raw…

One final tip – if you’re diabetic or have any other particular health condition do get some good advice on the best way to go raw for you.

Happy eating everybody!

Raw food cleanse

If you’re looking to improve your health, there are tons of gimmicks out there that won’t work for you. Why don’t you make a better decision for your health and choose a raw food cleanse? With so many options you can look for in your local supermarket, there are ways to do a raw food cleanse and not get bored with it.

Usually you can look forward to spending 3-10 days cleansing your body of all toxins, and eating only fresh fruits and veggies so that your stomach can get used to what you put it through.
Can you think of a food that you know is bad for you but that you just love? For many of us the donuts, pizzas, and yummy ice cream all sound so good, but if you don’t have a way to burn off those calories as soon as it’s consumed, it won’t be used as energy at all. With so many Americans sitting at the cubicle or on the couch while watching TV, you can imagine how many obese Americans there are in the world, the healthcare costs, and the lives lost to obesity every day. The science behind a raw food cleanse is growing all the time and millions attest to it’s effectiveness.

Here are a few good suggestions to help make sure your raw food cleanse goes as smoothly as possible, and you don’t end up giving it up for that Ben and Jerry’s in your freezer right now:

• Get a blender. Raw dips, spreads, and even raw soups (some warming allowed with guidance) are a great way to create new flavor combinations and keep your taste buds satisfied as you explore your new raw diet.

• Get a juicer. No matter what you eat up eating for your raw food cleanse, juicing is a delicious solution that everyone can get into. If you can’t afford one just yet, head on over to a local smoothie bar for a wheatgrass shot or some sort of fruity concoction that will taste awesome.

• Drink lots of water. Of course this is overall advice for life, but especially when going on a diet like a raw food cleanse. The reason is that your urinary tract and liver will be immensely cleaner when you drink water, so water (or healthy juice) will keep you in optimum shape.

When all is said and done, you will look, feel, and act healthier than you have ever felt before. I tried a raw food cleanse for myself and was pleased at the results; I lost 20 pounds, got into yoga, and was able to keep off the pounds and feel healthier each morning.

Just like any regimen you stick with, it will take some time, but remember to keep variety and imagination in your raw food cleanse by creative experimentation and good recipe advice.

Best of luck and contact us with any more questions you may have!
